Palermo Restaurants

Outside the buzzing Cafe Janio in Palermo Soho

Palermo is the gastronomic capital of Buenos Aires, with over 650 restaurants in a 10km radius. Unfortunately I haven´t eaten in all of them, but over the years I have been to at least 200, and have picked out some of my favorites as suggestions for making your time in Buenos Aires an incredible experience…

Armenian Restaurants in Palermo

Palermo is the heart of the very important community of Armenians in Buenos Aires. Their gastronomic and cultural input in this city is very significant. These are two of my favorite restaurants of this kind:

  • Sarkis - A Buenos Aires institution, been open for over 40 years, with easily the best Middle Eastern food in town. Make sure you go to see their belly dancing, after 10.30pm. Sarkis reviews and information
  • Cheff Iusef - Fantastic food, warm atmosphere, and very reasonable prices. Cheff Iusef reviews and information
  • Armenian Club -  Great atmosphere and the centrepiece of the Armenian Community of Buenos Aires.   Downstairs is the  La Viruta Club a popular place for milonga.   Armenian club info and reviews

International Cuisine in Palermo Hollywood

Palermo Hollywood is where the major TV and film studios are found, and also is the centre of international cuisine in Buenos Aires, these are my favorites:

  • Azema Exotic Bistro - A great place for a romantic meal, with food that combines the best of French influences in Indo-China. Their Vietnamese spring rolls are worth the trip alone. Azema Exotic Bistro reviews and information
  • Moche - Simply put, the best Peruvian restaurant in town: beautiful flavors, excellent service, and cheap prices. Moche reviews and information
  • Dashi - One of the best Japanese restaurants in Buenos Aires, out of almost 100 to choose from. The tremendous atmosphere makes a visit there a must. Dashi reviews and information

Trendy Palermo Spots

Seafood Restaurants in Palermo

  • Nemo - The best seafood I have tasted in Buenos Aires, along with some of the best service I have encountered in this city, and located in the exclusive Palermo Chico neighbourhood. Nemo reviews and information.

Palermo is constantly changing and week by week there is a constant stream of new restaurants, bars and cafes opening up. I will of course keep you updated. If you use any of my suggestions, I would love to hear to your feedback in the comments below.

  • What a miracle Pericles James is and the timing was perfect.
I had entered on a contract with contingencies that were not met and Pericles called me the same day I was suppose to sign the papers.
He showed me an apartment in the best barrio in Buenas Aires. It was the perfect size and has a fantastic view of Recoleta cemetary.
A person remarked “How did a gringo get this property”. Thanks to Mr. James it happened.

I found how unscrupolous the real estate agents can be here and there are no connections on listings like in the US with other agents.

If you walk in a real estate office, they will only show you there listings. Therefore, this is when Pericles steps up to the plate because he has been on top of the market and has a good eye for good properties and barrios.

I had read blogs on buying real estate in Argentina and felt comfortable that I could do this myself but after working with Pericles I learned you have to be real careful who you are dealing with. He saved me money at the money house and other purchases which makes up for the cost.

Call me if you want to know more. Pericles has my number!
