Snow in Buenos Aires!

Buenos Aires sees its first snow for 89 years

For the first time since 1918, a whole 89 years ago, it is snowing in the city of Buenos Aires.

Today, July 9th, is the official independence day of Argentina. But, people seem to be celebrating the rare occurrence of snow in the city a lot more. I guess that independence day happens every year, whereas snowfall in Buenos Aires literally is a once in a lifetime thing!

Back in 1918, the snowfall looked like this, creating an idyllic scene in Plaza de Mayo:
